Welcome to learn more about the business and investment opportunities especially in countries of Egypt, Morocco, Tunis and Algeria. Interesting sectors for the Finnish companies discussed in the event are green technology and construction. 
The first part of the event offers a big picture of the business environment and the potential opportunities it offers. The second part consists of the company cases and practical tips.

The event is for both Finnish SMEs but also larger companies.  


Egypt is the largest country in North-Africa and Middle-East with its 90 million population. With major part of population being young adults, Egypt is interested in Finnish education system and its implementation. Egypt is one the most important trade partner for Finland in the area, traditionally especially commodities and machinery has been exported.

Algeria has vast oil resources and is in need to build more versatile economy. It has close ties and trade arrangements with EU, which is Algeria's largest trading partner and absorbs the major part of Algerian international trade (54,1%). The country is interested in companies from neutral counties such as Finland. Finnish knowledge in ICT, marine and construction are something that Finland can offer to Algeria.

Morocco is one of most stable countries in North Africa. Close trade relationships with EU ease entering the Moroccan market. Morocco is often also seen as a gate into Sub-Saharan Africa.
Morocco is currently making profound changes in its energy sector. The amount of renewable energy is going to grow greatly in near future. Finnish companies have the knowhow and the skills that are needed in Morocco right now to enable cost effective, innovative and sustainable technologies and powerplants. This country with more than 34 million people is an opportunity not to miss for Finnish companies of all sectors and sizes. Finland exports products and materials of over 200 million € to Morocco.

Tunisia has a population of over 10 million people. There are potential business opportunities for Finnish companies in energy and environment, healthcare, education and gaming sectors for instance. Finland exports to Tunisia over 44 million worth of products and materials. Finnish wood is the main export to the country.

EUROMED Invest is a four years project, which aims at developing lastingly business relations, investments and business partnerships between the two shores of the Mediterranean. The countries involved are the the 28 member states of the EU, Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia and Turkey.
